I am Stephanie, a Registered Psychotherapist specializing in art therapy. I offer psychotherapy to children, teens and adults through my small, client-centred practice.
I’m a DIY artist who values the process of making as much as the product. Much of my life has been shaped by learning through doing: making, experimenting, taking things apart, putting them back together, repairing, reworking, and sometimes making a complete mess. I bring that same curiosity to my work as a therapist, where I believe in the value of exploring, experimenting, and discovering what becomes possible along the way.
What is Art Therapy?
Art therapy is for people of any age no artistic experience required.
Art therapy is a holistic and evidence-based form of psychotherapy that uses simple art materials to help you express emotions & experiences, gain insight, and support healing. It’s an embodied, creative process that helps you connect more deeply with yourself.
Art therapy sessions can help you:
- Express emotions you can't put into words
- Reduce anxiety and stress
- Build resilience and self-understanding
- Broaden perspectives & gain insight
- Solve problems
Art making is a way to understand and work through inner experiences. Many people notice a flow state while creating art, where they feel focused, relaxed, and fully present. In therapy, this state can lead to more clarity, problem-solving, and imagining new possibilities.
It's not about making "good" art, but about what unfolds in the process.
Working Together
My psychotherapy practice draws from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Sensorimotor (somatic) Art Therapy, along with ongoing learning about the body and nervous system. I strive to approach this work with curiosity and humility rather than certainty.
