Art Therapy for Youth

Working with Children

Children often communicate their thoughts and feelings through play, creativity, and imagination. Art therapy provides a safe and supportive space where your child can use drawing, painting, sculpting, and other creative activities to express themselves and explore what’s going on inside.

Art therapy supports children to:

  • Work through big emotions like anxiety, sadness, or anger
  • Build confidence and self-esteem
  • Practice problem-solving and coping skills
  • Strengthen their sense of identity and resilience

I use a gentle, child-centered approach that meets your child where they are at. The focus is on the process of creating because that process helps children express, regulate, and heal. Sessions usually involve a mix of art-making, conversation, and playful exploration, depending on what feels most comfortable for your child.

Parents and caregivers are an important part of the journey with regular check-ins to support growth.

Working with Teens

Being a teen can be stressful. Art therapy gives you a private space to express yourself and manage emotions through creativity. Whether it’s school, home, or work stress, or exploring your identity, you can use art to reflect, process feelings, and figure out your next steps.
